Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using the A-Ryders application or website ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These terms apply to all users of the Platform including customers, riders, and store partners.

2. The platform

A-Ryders is a technology platform that connects customers with local stores and independent delivery riders. A-Ryders facilitates the transaction but is not itself a store, restaurant, or delivery company. The stores and riders operating on the platform are independent third parties.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use A-Ryders. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this requirement. Rider accounts additionally require identity verification (NIN) and approval by A-Ryders before activation.

4. Customer terms

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your delivery address and contact details.
  • Orders are confirmed automatically upon placement. You have no right to cancel once a rider has been assigned, except through the in-app dispute process.
  • Payment is processed at the time of order placement via Paystack. Delivery fees are displayed before checkout and are non-refundable except where the order is cancelled by the store or A-Ryders.
  • Refunds for failed or incorrect orders are handled through the in-app dispute process and are subject to investigation.
  • You must not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to order prohibited goods.

5. Rider terms

  • Riders are independent contractors, not employees of A-Ryders.
  • You must provide accurate identity and vehicle information during registration. Providing false information is grounds for immediate account termination.
  • You are responsible for maintaining a valid driving licence, vehicle insurance, and any other permits required by law.
  • Earnings are calculated per delivery and are subject to the commission structure in effect at the time of delivery. A-Ryders reserves the right to update commission rates with reasonable notice.
  • A-Ryders may suspend or terminate your account for repeated cancellations, poor ratings, or violations of these terms.

6. Partner terms

  • Store partners must maintain accurate menu information including pricing and product availability.
  • Partners have a 3-minute window to cancel an order after it is placed. After this window, cancellation requires admin approval and may result in a penalty.
  • A-Ryders deducts a platform commission from each order before settlement. The applicable rate is communicated at onboarding and may be updated with 30 days' notice.
  • Partners are responsible for the quality and safety of the products they sell. A-Ryders is not liable for product defects or food safety issues.
  • A-Ryders may suspend or remove a partner account for repeated cancellations, poor customer ratings, or violations of these terms.

7. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Use the Platform to commit fraud or impersonate another person.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Platform.
  • Use the Platform to order, sell, or deliver illegal goods or substances.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, riders, or store staff.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension or ban.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform, including the A-Ryders name, logo, design, and software, is the property of A-Ryders and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, A-Ryders is not liable for:

  • Delays or failures in delivery caused by circumstances outside our control, including traffic, weather, and network outages.
  • The quality, safety, or accuracy of products sold by store partners.
  • Loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform beyond the value of the order in question.

10. Termination

A-Ryders reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms other users or the platform. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
